The WVU baseball program continued signing new players on Tuesday, announcing three more for the new roster.

These signees are FIU pitcher Owen Puk, Georgia Southern outfielder Sean Smith and Ian Korn out Seton Hill in nearby Pennsylvania.

Puk made 12 starts in 13 appearances for FIU as a redshirt junior during the 2025 season. He posted a 4-1 record and struck out 51 batters. Overall in his career, Puk has a 6.99 ERA in 40 total appearances that include missing the entire 2023 season with an injury.

Smith’s signing comes just a couple days after a report indicated his transfer to West Virginia. He’s coming off a 2025 season in which he slashed .352/.458/.599 while hitting nine home runs, nine doubles, a couple triples and recording 36 RBI as Georgia Southernโ€™s designated hitter.

He hit .321 the year prior in 2024 and .339 overall in his two seasons at GSU. Before those years, Smith attended Mississippi State Gulf Coast as a freshman and was ranked as the No. 10 first baseman in the country out of high school.

Korn, a right-handed pitcher who committed to WVU on June 14, went 11-2 with a 1.81 ERA at Pennsylvaniaโ€™s Seton Hill University during the 2025 season, earning Division II National Pitcher of the Year honors for his trouble.

A rising redshirt senior, Korn will have one season of eligibility remaining.
