WVU Baseball landed a Division II star on Saturday, June 14, with right-handed pitcher Ian Korn announcing his intention to transfer via Twitter.

Korn went 11-2 with a 1.81 ERA at Pennsylvania’s Seton Hill University during the 2025 season, earning Division II National Pitcher of the Year honors for his trouble.

A rising redshirt senior, Korn will have one season of eligibility remaining.

The Mountaineers have had success with pitchers making the jump from Division II to Division I in recent seasons, with 2025 Friday ace Griffin Kirn spending the first three seasons of his career at Quincy University; Kirn went on to earn Third Team All-American and First Team All-Big 12 selections.

Despite making their second straight Super Regional appearance, pitching was a weakness for the Mountaineers in 2025, so Korn could fill a big role for WVU Baseball during his senior season.
