WVU CB Beanie Bishop Jr. Wins Multiple Big 12 Weekly Awards
WVU CB Beanie Bishop Jr. won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and the Co-Newcomer of the Week awards on Monday. This is Bishop’s first honors in the conference and he is the first Mountaineer to be acknowledged by the Big 12 this season.
Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II won Offensive Player of the Week and Bishop shares the Co-Newcomer of the Week with OSU WR Leon Johnson III.

Bishop is in his first season with West Virginia and his final year of college football. Bishop has recorded 41 total tackles with four interceptions. The Minnesota transfer picked off UCF twice in West Virginia’s win on Saturday in Orlando, Fl.
