With one more high school season left, a versatile linebacker in the 2026 class is ready to reveal his top eight schools. North Carolina product Caleb Gordon has the WVU football program on his list that also includes several Power Four major brand names.

On Monday, Gordon (6-foot, 215 pounds), who attends Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, N.C., posted a graphic on social media that showed his top eight as Clemson, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, Memphis, Liberty, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Ironically enough, WVU is one of Gordon’s most recent offers. He received an offer from Rich Rodriguez’s staff on March 10. Considered one of the top 100 linebacker prospects in the country, Gordon is ranked as the No. 36 player in North Carolina via 247 Sports’ composite rankings. On3 Sports has him at No. 37.

Gordon also has offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Marshall and even North Carolina just to name a few.
