WVU Football Makes Final 5 for 2026 3-Star CB/Track Star

West Virginia furthered their goal to add as many athletes as possible on Thursday when the WVU football staff learned they made the final five for an athletic 2026 cornerback.

Virginia product Jase Rhodes announced West Virginia as one of the five schools he’s still considering by posting a graphic on social media. JMU, Louisville, USF and Wake Forest are the other programs on his list.

In addition to revealing his final five, Rhodes revealed his commitment announcement will happen on June 27. Rich Rodriguez’s WVU sent Rhodes an official offer on Jan. 17 to follow his until offer by the previous staff back in September.

The 5-foot-10 and 181 pound-Rhodes attends North Cross School in Roanoke, Va., where he also excels as a track star. Rhodes is a three-time track All-American and a two-time triple jump national champion.

As far as a football recruit, Rhodes is a consensus three-star and ranked as one of top 30 players for his class in Virginia. He plays wide receiver and corner in high school, but is being recruited as a cornerback.

While narrowing down his list, Rhodes had about 15 Division I offers on the table. Power Four schools like Penn State and Tennessee also offered Rhodes.
