WVU Football Coach Visits 2026 3-Star OL to Continue Evaluation
Before official visits to in June, a WVU football coach made the trip to Tennessee to spend time with a two-time offensive lineman of the year earlier in the week. West Virginia offensive line coach Jack Bicknell was at the home of 2026 prospect Austin Hoane.
The 6-foot-4 and 285-pound Hoane then posted about Bicknell taking the time to visit him at home.
Really appreciate @CoachBicknell taking the time and coming by the house tonight!! Looking forward to getting back up on campus @RealCoachRod @CoachTTrickett @CoachHarding55 @CoachVann35 @Michael_Hoane59 @CSmithScout @CoachHennigan pic.twitter.com/XXucGTeY0k

“Really appreciate Coach (Jack) Bicknell taking the time and coming by the house tonight!! Looking forward to getting back up on campus,” said Hoane.
Considered a three-star interior lineman, Hoane was initially a target of the previous WVU staff dating back to September of 2024. With still another high school season remaining, Hoane has already been named a first-team all-star player twice at Cookesville High School.
Always looking for depth, Bicknell’s visit shows West Virginia’s interest even though they are still deciding if to make him an official offer. Hoane currently has offers on the table from schools like Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, JMU, Liberty, Memphis, Western Kentucky and several others.
As far as other Power Four programs who have talked to Hoane, he has visited Michigan, Notre Dame and Purdue for either a game or spring practice.
