Rich Rodriguez may have found the future leader of WVU football right in his own backyard. Showing very early interest, West Virginia sent an official offer to Morgantown High School quarterback Maddox Twigg.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Twigg announced the offer and with the Mountaineers on social media. His WVU offer comes as a the perfect exclamation point to Morgantown’s phenomenal season.

A class of 2028 prospect, Twigg threw for over 2,200 yards and scored 26 touchdowns while also rushing for over 1,000 yards and adding 18 more scores. He led the Mohigans to the school’s first state title in 20 years on Friday night, running for 135 yards and scoring four total touchdowns in the West Virginia AAAA Championship Game.

WVU offensive senior assistant Travis Trickett quarterbacks coach Rhett Rodriguez are working together in building a relationship with Twigg.
