WVU Football offered 2027 dual threat quarterback Jayce Johnson, a four-star recruit who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 205 pounds, on Friday, June 13.

Depending who you ask, Johnson ranks not only as one of the top quarterbacks, but as one of the top players in his class: while he missed the cut for ESPN’s preliminary Top 300, 247Sports’ composite ranking lands him at No. 32 nationally, the second-best quarterback in 2027.

Per 247Sports, Johnson threw for 1,799 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore, adding 318 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

He also holds offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Pitt and Wisconsin, among a host of others. With two more years to play in his high school career, Johnson already has more than two dozen schools to choose from.

Already well built for his age, Johnson could turn into a matchup nightmare as he continues to grow.
