WVU Football Recruiting
WVU Football Pursuing 2026 Virginia Tech CB Commit
To further their plan to go after recruits of schools who recently fired coaches, the WVU football staff sent an offer to a Virginia Tech commit earlier in the week.
Zaevion Cleveland (6-foot03, 180 pounds) revealed he earned his West Virginia offer after a conversation with WVU cornerbacks coach Rod West.
A 2026 cornerback prospect out of Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Va., Cleveland, who committed to Virginia Tech in late June, re-opened his recruitment following the firing of former Hokies head coach Brent Pry.

Cleveland is considered a three-star player and a top 20 Virginia based recruit in his class. He also plays basketball and runs track for his high school.
Prior to committing to Virginia Tech, Cleveland had offers from Arkansas, Duke, East Carolina, JMU, Liberty, UConn, Syracuse, Virginia and several others.
As of now, West Virginia appears to be showing Cleveland the most interest since he re-opened his recruitment.
