WVU Football Staff Reaches Out to 2026 Prospects to Open Contact Period

The WVU football program took full advantage of the first day of the all-important “contact period” when it comes to showing interest in players in the 2026 class.

Saturday marked the first day college coaches could directly contact high school sophomores. Before Saturday, coaches weren’t permitted to directly text or call these players.

WV Sports Now will continue to monitor players West Virginia reaches out to.

Below are some of the new recruits who have already heard from the WVU coaching staff and should be viewed as high on their priority list while recruiting throughout the next year.

Tristan Bozeman (WR, OH)

Christian Harris (DT/DE, OH)

Justin Hodge (3-Star WR, OH)

Nassir McCoy (4-Star Safety, GA)

Justin Weatherall (WR/FS/CB, FL)
