WVU G Erik Stevenson Sweeps Big 12 Weekly Awards

West Virginia fifth-year senior guard Erik Stevenson has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, per release. Stevenson swept the weekly awards in the final week of the regular season.

Stevenson averaged 25 points, three rebounds and three assists last week, leading the Mountaineers to a 2-0 record with wins over Iowa State and Kansas State. Stevenson has recorded five-straight games of 23-plus points, becoming one-of-five Mountaineers in history to do so.

Stevenson joins teammate Tre Mitchell to take away a Big 12 award this season.

The fifth-year senior will lead West Virginia into Kansas City this week. WVU will play Texas Tech in the first round of the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Wednesday.
