“I want to welcome, Kirk, his wife, Kim, and his family to Mountaineer Football,” WVU coach Neal Brown said in a statement. “I have known Kirk for many years, having worked together on the staff at Delaware. He brings years of successful experience and will be a valuable member of our football program.”
Ciarracco most recently serves as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Penn State during the 2020 season. The Nittany Lions had the fourth-best passing attack in the Big 10 last season, throwing for 256 yards per game with 17 passing touchdowns.
Prior to the year in Happy Valley, Ciarracco held the same position with Minnesota for three years from 2017-2019. He followed head coach P.J. Fleck to the Golden Gophers after the two worked together at Western Michigan from 2013-2016. He also had stops with Rutgers (2008-10) and Richmond (2011).
Ciarracco and Brown overlapped at Delaware in 2005, Brown’s only season with the Blue Hens. Ciarracco coached at UD from 2002-07 and returned in 2011.
