WVU interim head coach Josh Eilert announced his coaching staff on Sunday morning. Assistant DerMarr Johnson kept his position while graduate assistant Alex Ruoff was promoted to a main assistant role. Eilert also brought on former Mountaineer guards Da’Sean Butler and Jordan McCabe as assistants.

Here’s what Eilert had to say about each individual:

DerMarr Johnson

“DerMarr also has tons of NBA and professional connections. He has a great rapport with our guys, and he sees things differently with his years of experience in professional basketball. He has great attention to detail, and we are fortunate to have him on our staff.”

Alex Ruoff

“Alex is a hard worker who brings tremendous energy every day. He has a ton of experience from competing professionally overseas and a tremendous basketball IQ. He truly knows how to be a professional on and off the court.”

Da’Sean Butler

“We are thrilled to welcome Da’Sean back to Mountaineer basketball. He’s a Mountaineer legend who is just a great human being. Da’Sean has NBA connections and is such a personable guy; he will fit in our program extremely well.”

Jordan McCabe

“Like Da’Sean, we are elated to have Jordan back with Mountaineer basketball. We are fortunate to have a former point guard on our staff. He will be able to develop our guards and help them with the vision of where we are going. He, too, is wonderful with people in creating and maintaining relationships.”
