WVU Target Jamarion Batemon Commits to Big 12 School
2025 four-star Jamarion Batemon announced on Monday afternoon that he’s committing to Iowa State over Clemson, Marquette and West Virginia.
WVU’s new staff got involved with Batemon very recently but couldn’t steal a top-60 recruit.

Batemon is a 6-3 guard who scores the ball from all three levels. A big-time shotmaker who is a committed, tough on-ball defender.

Batemon (6-foot-3) is entering his senior season at Milwaukee Academy of Science in Wisconsin. Batemon received an offer from West Virginia on April 20 and has other offers from Bradley, Cal Poly, Clemson, DePaul, Grambling State, Illinois, Marquette, Milwaukee, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and others.
Batemon visited Iowa State and Marquette out of his top four schools.
In other WVU recruiting news: West Virginia offered 2025 G Jayden Forsythe and 2027 G King Gibson over the weekend.
The Mountaineers under new head coach Darian DeVries do not have any commitments for the class of 2025 but do have three 2024 recruits already on campus in just a short amount of time.
