Ofri Naveh

Ofri Naveh, one of West Virginia’s top international prospects, is currently participating in the FIBA U18 European Championships. Naveh plays for Israel, who is 2-1 in group play.

Here are Naveh’s averages through three games:

  • 13.3 Points
  • 5.3 Rebounds
  • 1.7 Assists
  • 3.3 Steals
  • 1.0 Blocks
  • 28.2 Minutes
  • 57.1% FG (7.0 attempts/game)
  • 57.1% 3FG (2.3 attempts/game)
  • 85.7% FT (4.7 attempts/game)

Naveh (6-foot-7) most recently played for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv‘s U18 team this past March. In the Adidas Next Generation Tournament, Naveh averaged 8.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 steals in four games.

During his recruitment, Naveh has heard from Butler, Marquette, Overtime Elite, Wake Forest and others. West Virginia contacted Naveh two weekends ago and completed a Zoom call with him, a source told WV Sports Now. Naveh has a unique play style as the Israeli native plays like a guard but is the size of a forward. Naveh can score at all three levels on the floor.

Naveh turned 18 in April so he will not be eligible for the NBA draft until 2027.

Israel plays in the knockout stage starting Wednesday. Naveh is expected to resume his recruitment following the championship. WVSN will keep you up to date on Naveh’s recruitment.
