West Virginia basketball is looking to fill in their final four spots on the roster for the 2023-24 season. WVU’s coaching staff under interim head coach Josh Eilert are now involved with four international players. Let’s take a look at the newest recruits for WVU.

Abdullah Ahmed / C / Egypt

Ahmed (6-foot-10) averaged 8.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks during the U18 African Championships back in 2020. Ahmed played for Al Shams Cairo this past season.

Ahmed is eligible for the NBA draft in 2025 as he turns 20 this November.

Ibrahim Mohamed / G-F / Egypt

Mohamed (6-foot-4) played for UM-Dearborn in NAIA competition this past season. Mohamed averaged 5.5 points in 16 minutes per game. Mohamed played at Combine Academy in North Carolina, one of the well-known basketball teams for producing college prospects.

Mohamed is eligible for the NBA draft in 2026.

Ofri Naveh / F / Israel

Naveh (6-foot-7) most recently played for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv‘s U18 team this past March. Naveh averaged 4.0 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Naveh has a unique play style as the Israeli native plays like a guard but is the size of a forward.

West Virginia conducted a Zoom call with Naveh on Sunday, a source tells WV Sports Now. Naveh has been recruited by Marquette and other Power-6 programs. Naveh just turned 18 years old so he will not be eligible for the NBA draft until 2027.

Victory Onuetu / C / Spain

Onuetu (6-foot-11) played for the Spain U19 World Cup team this summer. Onuetu appeared in six games during the competition but only appeared in 9.8 minutes per game. In limited time, Onuetu averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Onuetu is eligible for the 2026 NBA draft.

West Virginia currently has nine players on roster: RaeQuan Battle (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Jesse Edwards (C), Josiah Harris (F), Kobe Johnson (G), Kerr Kriisa (G), Omar Silverio (G), Patrick Suemnick (F) and Seth Wilson (G). WVU is looking everywhere for available players, even overseas to fill the final four spots.
