WVU’s Dante Stills Named to Two More Awards Watch Lists

West Virginia senior defensive lineman Dante Stills is getting his preseason recognition as more and more award watch lists include him.

Already with a multitude of preseason honors, Still was named to the 2021 Outland Trophy watch list and the 2021 Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list. The Outland is presented to the best interior lineman in college football while the Nagurski is presented to the best defensive player in college football.

With 35 tackles (15 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two passes defended and a forced fumble as a junior last season, Still established himself as one of the best interior lineman in the Big 12. With preseason All-Big 12 honors and multiple preseason All-American honors, Stills is expected to take the next step and stake his claim as one of the best defenders in the nation.

Both awards will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards in December. No player from WVU has ever won the Outland or Nagurski Trophy, so Stills would be the first to bring home either exclusive award.
