WVU Football Building Relationship with Highly Coveted 2026 Edge Rusher
In an effort to swing for the fences and build a relationship with a top recruit, the WVU football staff sent an offer to one of the nation’s best edge rushers.
Zion Elee (6-foot-3, 215 pounds), a class of 2026 prospect out of Baltimore, Md., posted about receiving an offer from WVU Wednesday afternoon. Elee’s offer from West Virginia comes a week after Alabama expressed interest with an offer of their own.

WV Sports Now reached out to Elee after he announced the offer and he revealed he has plans to visit Morgantown over the summer.
“They didn’t really get into specifics because I’m still an underclassman, but I do have plans to visit in the summer, just not a specific date,” he said about his call from the WVU staff with the offer.
Elee has already been rated as a four-star player by On3 Sports, Rivals and 247 Sports. He’s also ranked as the No. 2 overall Maryland player in his class by each of those national recruiting outlets.
In addition to WVU and Alabama, Elee has offers on the table from major programs and brands like Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and several others.
