Former WVU big man Jesse Edwards earned his way into an NBA Draft Combine invitation after his play in the G League Elite Camp last week. Now, Edwards is showcasing his talent amongst some of the best NBA draft prospects this week in Chicago.

“Let’s stay for another week,” Edwards said in the clip below. “I was hoping for this the whole time. When I started the weekend, this is what I was hoping for. Happy, relieved, that’s how I’m feeling right now.”

Edwards joined Boogie Ellis (USC), Enrique Freeman (Akron), Isaac Jones (Washington State) and Nae’Qwan Tomlin (Memphis) as the five players to move on from the G League Elite Camp to the NBA Draft Combine.

“It feels amazing. Like everybody in this room, you try to keep the logo on your chest for as long as you can. It’s been a grind, crazy path this summer. Can’t wait to keep it going, hopefully,” Edwards told media.

The former Syracuse and West Virginia center recorded seven points, nine rebounds and two assists during his first NBA combine game. Edwards shares the floor with combine teammate Bronny James, the son of LeBron, who will have all eyes on him this week.

Edwards, who is set to begin a professional career, played in the Reese’s Division-I All-Star Game during the Final Four weekend in Phoenix, Az. The 6-foot-11 big man finished with eight points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes. On Sunday, Edwards recorded eight points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks during the final game of the G League Elite Camp session.

Edwards averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks through 23 games with the Mountaineers. Edwards was sidelined for over a month with a fractured right wrist from mid-December to late-January.
