2020 QB receiving positive vibes from WVU staff

Last week, class of 2020 quarterback Chayil Garnett (6’2″ 205 lbs) 0f Lake Wales, Florida was in Morgantown for a summer recruiting camp. Although Garnett has yet to receive an offer from West Virginia, he is expecting one sometime soon. His current offers consist of Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic, UNC Charlotte and Southern Miss.

Despite walking away without an offer from the Mountaineers, Garnett certainly seemed to come away impressed after his stop in Morgantown.

“My visit at WVU went very well. I enjoyed the atmosphere there and enjoyed being around high caliber coaches and players. I like their top-notch facilities and also the positive vibes from the coaching staff. They just made me feel very comfortable, I had a great time!”

Although it is still fairly early in his recruiting process, he already has a positive outlook on the program. “I will absolutely consider WVU when making my decision. It’s definitely a place where I would be able to succeed athletically and academically. It’s a school that has a rich football tradition, part of a great conference in the Big 12 and is located in a town that strongly supports the university.”

Garnett is a dual-threat quarterback and has the ability to extend plays with his feet. He does not shy away from tucking the ball and running it himself and he will stand in the pocket and deliver a strike while taking a shot. He exudes toughness and he’s only going to get bigger and stronger as he heads into his junior season at Lake Wales. There is some work that needs to be done mechanically, but you can see the raw talent Garnett has and his trajectory as a starting quarterback at a major program.

Garnett does intend on returning to Morgantown in the future, but that date is to be determined. This will be one recruit fans will want to keep a close eye on over the next two years.
