2020 safety nearing decision with West Virginia in the mix

Last night I was able to catch up with class of 2020 defensive back T.J. Rush (6″ 175 lbs) of Trinity Catholic HS in Saint Louis, MO.

Rush visited Morgantown back in early April and came away very pleased with what he experienced during his trip, “I loved the facilities and the campus! It was big and there was a lot to do there and it felt like a family environment.” Rush stated.

The pace for the 2020 class coming together is slowly starting to pick up and Rush has taken notice. “West Virginia is a great place, with a lot of great coaches who want to win and I can see why this 2020 class is looking so good.”

Yesterday, the Mountaineers picked up a verbal commitment from linebacker/edge rusher Lanell Carr, who also hails from Saint Louis. Interestingly enough, Rush and Carr more than just know one another. “Yeah, that’s kind of like my cousin! His father and my father are long time friends and we both played on the same football team too, we are really cool.” Rush said.

Rush informed me that he and coach Vic Koenning are attempting to schedule a visit for the fall and a decision is likely to come either this month or next.

He holds offers from Kansas, Miami (OH), Central Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green, Ball State and Charlotte along with heavy interest from Illinois.

Stay tuned to DubVNation for the latest on Rush’s recruitment.
