Romanas Frederique flips from WVU to Miami

In the midst of gaining commitments on Friday, WVU football also lost one too. Romanas Frederique, who was previously committed to West Virginia two weeks ago, has flipped to Miami (FL).

Frederique is a class of 2024 cornerback product from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After thinking Frederique was part of building a Florida recruiting pipeline, he changes his mind and decides to stay in his home state.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Frederique is currently a junior at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School. He took his official visit to Morgantown last weekend.

WVU sent Frederique an offer on April 11. The Mountaineers were one of only a few non Florida based Power Five schools to offer Frederique at the time, joining the likes of new Big 12 members Houston and UCF. He also received offers from FIU, FAU, Florida State among others

Romanas Frederique is regarded as a three-star player by multiple recruiting outlets and ranked as one of the top 100 Florida prospect by 247 Sports.
