West Virginia has been pursuing Murphy longer than most of their 2024 recruits. WVU sent him an offer on Oct. 22, 2022.

Prior to narrowing down his list of college programs, Murphy was also considering Arkansas and Maryland. He’s considered a three-star recruit by 247 Sports, Rivals and On3.com.

Murphy is ranked as the number 32 prospect in Alabama and the number 86 receiver in the country for his class by 247 Sports. Rivals has him as number 37 in the state and On3 has him at number 35.
