Chandler-Semedo to Continue Leading WVU Defense in 2022
Less than 24 hours after both Jarret Doege and Winston Wright Jr., announced their exodus from the WVU Football offensive scheme, Mountaineer fans should take comfort in the maintenance of defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley’s room. Senior linebacker Josh Chandler-Semedo posted to Twitter that, despite walking at Senior Day, he’s committed to, once more, assisting the defense come 2022.

The tweet says, “These last few years in Morgantown have been a memorable experience. The fans, the culture and the tradition at West Virginia is like no other. Since I was a kid I have dreamed of playing at the next level and having the opportunity to provide for my family and set the foundation for the youth to follow. I have been blessed to have a great career at West Virginia which has allowed me to be in [sic] position to have an opportunity to play at the next level and pursue my dreams. I am extremely grateful for that.”
Chandler-Semedo collected 110 tackles (68 solo), 5.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks in 2021. The Canton, Oh. native concluded the season No. 3 in the Big 12 and No. 30 in the nation in total tackles, as well as No. 17 in the nation for solo stops.
