Morgantown, WV – Today, West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen announced that the status for redshirt freshman running back Alec Sinkfield is unknown.

“Don’t know, we will evaluate today.” Holgorsen said.

Sinkfield was injured in the game vs Youngstown State three weeks ago nursing a knee injury. He was ruled out for this past weeks game vs Kansas and did not dress. Two weeks ago, Holgorsen said that,”he should be fine” as he doesn’t believe it is anything serious or long-term.

Sinkfield has 28 yards and one touchdown on six carries this year and once healthy, should see a good amount of playing time with the other three running backs. Sinkfield has been noted as the potential home run hitter out of the backfield with his top end speed.
