Big Reaction, Hype to WVU Basketball Winning Finley Bizjack Sweepstakes

West Virginia’s latest transfer portal win has led to praise and hype from across the college basketball community. Moments after WVU basketball secured a commitment from star guard and Butler transfer Finley Bizjack national pundits and others who follow recruiting began to explain why it’s a big deal for Ross Hodge and company.

“Big get for Ross Hodge & WVU,” said Jeff Goodman, the co-founder of The Field of 68.

The Portal Report posted a video with highlights with the caption, “yea WVU is getting a DUDE that can score and is a wizard with the ball 🔥🔥.”

The Dominion Post’s Spencer Ripxhik posted a video that shows Bizjack making a video game-like pass.

A 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior, Bizjack commits right after his weekend visit in Morgantown.

Known for efficient offensive prowess, Bizjack became a starter for the Bulldogs the last two years after seeing limited action off the bench as a freshman.

His best shooting season was during the 2024-25 campaign when he shot 44% from the floor and 42% from three. Last season, he dipped to a 42.6%, but upped his points per game from 10.3 to 17.1.

The Trophy Club, Texas native now joins Boise State transfer forward Javan Buchanan as far as West Virginia’s current crop of transfer commits.
