Coleman (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) played for Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas as a freshman in 2020 after playing high school football at Smiths Station High School in Smiths Station, Alabama.
While playing for Hutchinson in 2020, Coleman led Hutchinson with three interceptions in seven games. He also racked up 20 tackles (11 solo tackles), 1.5 tackles for loss and four pass breakups. Coleman will retain four years of eligibility with WVU after picking up an extra season of eligibility from new COVID-19 rules. Coleman, originally a 2020 recruit, picked WVU over Washington State and Western Kentucky.
