Depth Piece Addition Appears on WVU Football Roster
Even late into the month of February, WVU football is willing to add to its roster. On Friday, West Virginia officially added a depth piece for the secondary and special teams.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound Alex Adebayo is now a Mountaineer, transferring from Delaware. Adebayao initially revealed his commitment with a post on X (formerly Twitter) back on Jan. 30.
“I thank God for all Heโs done for me during this transfer portal process and super excited to transfer and play football at West Virginia University!,” he said at the time.
Adebayao redshirted aศ a freshman in 2024 and then appeared in just one game during the 2025 season with the Blue Hens. He then decided to transfer, announcing his decision on Jan. 14.
Expect Adebayo’s opportunity to play for WVU to be on special teams, barring being needed on defense due to injury.
