On Thursday night, former WVU forward Taj Thweatt announced the commitment to his new school: Coastal Carolina.

Thweatt will begin his stint with the Chanticleers in the 2022-23 season and will have three years of eligibility, with an extra year opportunity with the free COVID-19 extension. Thweatt played 12 games through two seasons at West Virginia, averaging 0.6 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.2 assists. He transferred following the Texas game, as it was evident that the New Jersey native wouldn’t be able to find ample minutes in the current Mountaineers rotation.
