Game Details, Theme Announced for WVU vs. Arizona in Week 6

Following West Virginia’s first true road game this Saturday at Iowa State, the Mountaineers will head back home to face Arizona. On Monday, the game details for the Week 6 matchup were announced by the Big 12.

WVU and Arizona will kickoff at noon ET on Oct. 10. The game will be broadcast nationally on TNT/TRU TV. And to add extra intrigue for the conference showdown, the game will be designated as the annual Coal Rush game.

West Virginia sits as a -2.5-point underdog to Iowa State, according to most major sportsbooks.

In desperate need of a conference win, the Mountaineers head into their Week 5 matchup at 3-1 (0-1, Big 12). WVU is coming off a second half collapse to Oklahoma State that resulted in a 41-24 loss to the Cowboys.

Rich Rodriguez took the blame for a defensive performance that gave up 609 yards of offense to Oklahoma State on Saturday night.

He said he “failed” to have an adequate plan to stop OSU.

“I failed to have us like, okay, what’s plan A, what’s plan B, and plan C? Normally we have that pretty solidly locked down, but evidently today that wasn’t the case,” Rodriguez said in his postgame press conference.

West Virginia and Iowa State will kickoff from Ames, Iowa at noon ET on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game is scheduled to broadcast nationally on TNT.
