Geno Smith Exits Seattle’s ‘SNF’ Loss After Rough Hit

Nothing went right for the Seahawks on the Sunday Night Football national stage, and that included losing Geno Smith to a knee injury in the second half. Smith exited Seattle’s 31-13 loss to Green Bay on the second possession of the third quarter after being hit low by linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.
Prior to the injury, Smith was 14-for-19 with 149 yards passing and five yards on the ground. He also threw an interception in the first half.

It does sound as if Smith will be fine and back under center when Seattle looks to get back on track in their next game.
The Seahawks are now 8-6 on the season with a tough matchup against Minnesota on deck.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters that Smith’s knee appears to be structurally okay, but the extent of the injury is unclear at this time. Smith will undergo a further evaluation on Monday.

“I’ll tell you this, this guy’s probably the toughest player I’ve been around,” said Macdonald about Smith.
“It was severe enough for him not to come back in the game. We’ll do all the tests tomorrow and kind of figure it out as we go. Right now, structurally it looks like it’s OK. We’ll get him imaged and all that stuff,” he added.
