Geno Smith, Seahawks Still Alive for Playoffs Despite Loss to Steelers
Geno Smith was good on Sunday against the Steelers, but not good enough. Smith’s Seahawks fell to Pittsburgh at home 30-23.
After back-to-back wins, including last week when Smith returned from missing time with an injury, the loss drops Seattle’s record to an even 8-8, although does not eliminate them from the playoff contention. Smith completed 69.7% of his passes for 290 yards. He threw a touchdown pass and also ran for 33 yards on the ground.
Despite being disappointed about the loss, Smith said the Seahawks need to move on quickly since they still have a chance to reach the postseason with a game left.

Seattle and Smith will now close the season next week in Arizona against the Cardinals. They will need a win and a lot of help in Week 18 to return to the playoffs.
