MacLean, 6-foot-9, is entering his senior year at SoCal Academy.
West Virginia’s staff extended an offer to MacLean last week.
โExcited to be offered by West Virginia University. Thank you coach [Darian] DeVries, coach [Tom] Ostrom and the whole staff for believing in me,โย MacLean wrote on social media.
During his recruitment, MacLean has picked up offers from Arizona State, Loyola Marymount, Rutgers, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and others. MacLean is originally from Westwood Village, Ca.
MacLeanโs teammate, Odih, is WVUโs latest commitment. Odih chose the Mountaineers over Rutgers and Louisville, giving West Virginia its first four-star commitment in the Darian DeVries era. Odih is also the last four-star commitment since Isaiah Cottrell back in 2020.
โEverything was great. I really enjoyed my time over there. The coaching staff was very welcoming,โย Odih said at the timeย toย WV Sports Now.
Odih and Braydon Hawthorne (three-star forward) make up Darian DeVries’ second high school class so far at West Virginia.
