WVU Football WR recruit Montavin Quisenberry flips to Kentucky

A player once committed to the WVU football program announced that he’s now committing to an SEC school instead.

Class of 2025 wide receiver Montavin Quisenberry (5-foot-10, 175 pounds) committed to Kentucky on Wednesday.

“After careful consideration and talks with my family, I have decided to de-commit from West Virginia University. The decision was not made lightly as I have tremendous respect for the WVU coaching staff and team. With that being said I am committing to KENTUCKY! Go Cats,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

While WVU fans may try to connect this recruiting loss to the recent Neal Brown drama, Quisenberry, who initially committed to WVU over the summer, is a Kentucky native and flipping to play for a major program that represents his state instead of leaving to move to West Virginia.

Considered a three-star prospect by multiple national recruiting outlets, Quisenberry plays both wide receiver and defensive back at Boyle County High School in Danville, Ky. He also stars as a point guard on the basketball team and is considered one of the top overall athletes in Kentucky.

Most recruiting outlets classify Quisenberry as an athlete, but On3.com does have him listed as a wide receiver. Heโ€™s ranked within the top 10 Kentucky prospects in his class by most national recruiting outlets.

Quisenberryโ€™s offers include Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Louisville, Michigan, Ole Miss, Toledo, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
