Jordan Lesley’s Firing Sparks Big Reaction from WVU Fans on Social Media
Tuesday’s news of West Virginia firing Jordan Lesley triggered a big reaction from WVU fans across social media. The decision to move on from Lesley also led to a lot of speculation and wondering about what the rest of the season will look like.
Below is just some of what was said about the news on X (formerly Twitter).
Neal’s friend Jordan Lesley the scapegoat has officially been fired. This better be just the beginning.

I honestly think 80% of the team’s problems rested on the shoulders of Jordan Lesley.

He should have. The guy let him down over and over again. Penn State cover zero. The Pitt collapse. Tampa 2 last weekend

It was Neal Brown who made the call to fire Jordan Lesley. https://t.co/BmX8Fx0aD0

If Neal Brown truly wasn't pressured to fire Jordan Lesley and did it entirely on his own, that means he's getting desperate to save his own job.
However, I find it a lot more likely that there was quite a bit of outside pressure without him being specifically told to fire him.

Jordan Lesley is gone we may not give up a single point the rest of the season

Jordan Lesley's out at WVU. I can accept this. I don't expect the defense to turn around immediately, but if it can not be worse, I'll be okay until next season.

i don’t think he’s the only one that should be fired,,, s. brown, his cohart should be next but maybe they don’t want to fire two assist.s during the season..ISN’T jeff casteel on the payroll right now,, bring him in for therest of the season , or how about dunlap, he knows more about D than anyone on the team now,,bring both in ,and fire s.brown.

It had to be done, and it had to be hard for Brown, who has known Lesley for years. It’s hard to see how Koonz can be a miracle worker, though. The move, however, could give our defense a boost.
Let’s see what the next 1 1/2 weeks bring in preparing the team for Cincinnati. Who will be the QB? Will our injured players be ready? Will our defense adjust to a new DC?
Got to be optimistic. The toughest part of our schedule is behind us.
