Hagerty’s Complete Game Leads Kansas Pass West Virginia

Daniel Hagerty pitched a gem for the Jayhawks as he went 9 innings against the Mountaineers tonight. 

After a quick start, Maui Ahuna and Caleb Upshaw were able to knock in two runs. Then Hagerty went to work for the Jayhawks as he didn’t give up a hit till the third inning.

In the fourth, Kansas continued to pour it on. Cooper McMurray homered and Ahuna was able to score on a groundout to make it 5-0.

In the fifth WVU was finally able to get on the board as Victor Scott was able to single in a run which made it 5-1. But the Jayhawks added on and made it 6-1.

McMurry had a sac fly in the seventh which made it 7-1. Dayne Lenord made it 7-3 as he hit a two-run shot. Hagerty shut the Motuinners down for the last two innings as the Jayhawks were able to take this one.

The two teams will be back in action tomorrow and Sunday as they finish the weekend series
