WVU Football Uniform Combinations

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – When the 3-4 Mountaineers welcome the 5-2 Iowa State Cyclones to Milan Puskar Stadium on Oct. 30, they’ll don a familiar uniform combination. Game 8 includes the classic gold pants, blue jersey, and blue helmets. It’s been a home staple since 2001, and a version of it has already been worn this season.

The Mountaineers are currently 31-13 wearing this combination since 2001, including last season’s 38-17 home win against the Kansas Jayhawks. The jersey and pants combination, with gold helmets, was worn during this season’s Week 5 match-up with Texas Tech, which resulted in a 23-20 loss in Morgantown. This Saturday, the Mountaineers are hoping for a different result.

Iowa State is on a three-game win streak against West Virginia, but the Mountaineers lead the series 5-4. WVU head coach Neal Brown is trying to inch his team toward bowl contention, and a win against No. 22 Iowa State would put this Mountaineer staff back on the right track. The game at Milan Puskar Stadium kicks off at 2 p.m.
