West Virginia senior defensive lineman Jeffery Pooler Jr. announced on Twitter Monday evening that he will take advantage of the NCAA’s blanket eligibility rule for 2020 and return to the Mountaineers for the 2021 season.

The 2021 season will be Pooler’s sixth as a Mountaineer. He played in seven games last season, raking up 14 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss with one sack and a forced fumble. As a full-time starter in 2019, Pooler played in all 12 games with 26 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

A defensive end, Pooler will be one of several returners along WVU’s defensive line. He will join Dante Stills, Akheem Mesidor and Taijh Alston as returning contributors along the line.
