JUCO Safety Aaron Edwards Picks WVU After Recent Offer

In addition to gaining several high school commitments on Sunday, the WVU football staff also added a junior college player. Safety Aaron Edwards joined the commitment party, pledging to become a Mountaineer on social media.

Edwards, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, chose West Virginia over New Mexico, Rutgers, Texas State, Tulsa, UTSA and UTEP.

WVU won over Edwards only a week after defensive coordinator Zac Alley extended him an official offer. Edwards was wrapping his official visit with Tulsa when he heard from Alley. He then spent the past weekend in Morgantown before committing.

Edwards is coming off a junior college season in which he recorded 63 tackles and forced three fumbles.
