Rainout Forces Schedule Shuffle for WVU Baseball

With steady rain forecast for much of the rest of the day, West Virginia baseball’s game against William and Mary on Friday, March 3 got canceled.

The rainout created a scheduling conflict for the Mountaineers: after their one-off game in Williamsburg, West Virginia was set to travel to Richmond for two days for games against VCU and the Richmond Spiders. The Mountaineers won’t be able to reschedule their game against William and Mary because of this, substituting a matchup with Canisius instead as part of a Saturday double header.

Like the Mountaineers, the Golden Griffins are in town to take part in the Central Virginia Classic. West Virginia will face off against VCU at 1pm tomorrow, and their game against Canisius will begin roughly 45 minutes after the first game is completed.

The Mountaineers will host Canisius in their home opener on Wednesday, March 8, so the new schedule will give them an extra chance to scout their opponent.

The Sunday matinee against Richmond will continue as usual, barring more inclement weather.
