Report: WVU Football Expected to Add Safeties Coach
The WVU football program is expected to hire former Boise State cornerbacks coach Gabe Franklin, according to EerSports.
He will likely be named safeties coach according to those same sources.
As for Franklin’s background, he spent four seasons with the Broncos as safeties coach. He played for Boise State from 2001 to 2004, earning All-Conference honors three times as a cornerback. Franklin then experienced time in the NFL briefly with the Giants and Chargers.
Franklin started his coaching career at the high school level before working at UTEP. He coached cornerbacks, defensive backs and the recruiting coordinator for the program at UTEP.
