Kellogg has spent the last eight seasons at Stephen F. Austin, winning 195 games and taking the Lumberjacks to two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. Kellogg has won an outright Southland Conference title and an outright Western Athletic Conference title.
WVU’s Director of Athletics Wren Baker has a prior history with Kellogg. Baker hired Kellogg back in 2012 at Northwest Missouri State as the head coach of the women’s program there. Now in 2023, Baker hires Kellogg again.
West Virginia women’s basketball is coming off of an NCAA Tournament appearance under the only season under Dawn Plitzuwiet. After the Mountaineers’ first-round loss to Arizona, Plitzuweit took the Minnesota job a day later.
