Shocking Spread Continues to Doubt WVU in Game at Kansas
Any WVU fan confident in the Mountaineers this week needs to jump on the action right now. After already opening the week as a massive underdog to Kansas, the odds are moving further away from West Virginia.
Now in the middle of the week, both DraftKings and FanDuel have Kansas as a 13.5-point favorite. This now means both major sportsbooks have increased the Jayhawks’ advantage by at least one full point.
A driving force of Kansas being so heavily favored has to be that the game is being played in Lawrence. Otherwise, Kansas has yet to prove much more than WVU so far this season. The over/under is currently set at 55.5 on FanDuel and 56.5 on DraftKings, which makes a bit more sense.
Through three games, the Jayhawks share WVUโs 2-1 record at the start of Big 12 play. West Virginia has wins over Robert Morris and Pitt and a loss at Ohio.
Kansas, coming off a bye following their loss to Missouri, their out of conference rival, has wins over Fresno State and Wagner.
WVU beat Kansas 32-28 in a back and forth thriller last season. Rodney Gallagher caught the game-winning touchdown for the Mountaineers.
Remember, WVU entered their rivalry game against Pitt as a heavy underdog, but ended up beating the Panthers 31-24 in overtime.
West Virginia and Kansas will air nationally on FS1 and kickoff from Lawrence at 6 pm ET.
