The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting West Virginia center Zach Frazier on a pre-draft visit on Friday. Frazier is one of the top center prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft and has been repeatedly linked to the Steelers as a possibility with their second pick of the draft at No. 51 overall.

Frazier’s scheduled visit to the Steelers was previously reported. He will not count toward the team’s maximum of 30 pre-draft visitors because West Virginia is considered local to the Steelers.

Frazier is expected to be drafted within the first two rounds, and that expectation gained even more steam based on his measurements and workout at the NFL Combine. Despite not even testing, he helped himself out, checking in at 6-foot-2 1/2 and 313 pounds with 32 1/4-inch arms and 10 7/8-inch hands. He has a 7.66 Relative Athletic Score out of 10.

Frazier did not run at the combine while recovering from a broken leg that prematurely ended his 2023 season with the Mountaineers, but he did test at the 2024 Big 12 Pro Day. There, Frazier ran a 5.24-second 40-yard dash, a 4.69-second shuttle, 7.85-second three-cone drill, an 8-foot-4 broad jump and a 28 1/2-inch vertical jump.

The Steelers sent assistant offensive line coach Isaac Williams to Frisco, Texas to watch Frazier work out. They also interviewed him at the 2024 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., which he attended but did not participate in, due to his injury.

The Steelers have a significant need at center after releasing 2023 starter Mason Cole. The club has been connected to most of the top center prospects in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, but have been more closely tied to Frazier than almost anyone else.

Frazier’s average position at NFL Mock Draft Database is currently at No. 45 overall in the second round, slotting him between the Steelers’ first pick at No. 20 and second at No. 51.
