Former Mountaineer Alonzo Addae picked a great time to make his first career interception as a professional player.

On Sunday in the CFL, Addae helped seal the Ottawa Redblacks’ win over the Calgary Stampeders. Ottawa ended up winning 43-41 in overtime.

The West Virginia product has 13 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception so far on the season.

Addae is playing after recording 39 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, two interceptions and eight pass deflections at WVU.

Prior to advancing his game to the Big 12, Addae was a star at the University of New Hampshire. He transferred to WVU in 2019, sitting out the entirety of the season to fulfill the NCAA’s past transfer eligibility requirements. Addae totaled  61 tackles in two college seasons before arriving in Morgantown.
