West Virginia Basketball Reaches Out to Group of Transfers This Weekend

A source gave WV Sports Now a list of transfers that West Virginia basketball has reached out to this weekend. The list includes six players that have entered the transfer portal recently.

Taran Armstrong – Cal Baptist

Dontrez Styles – North Carolina

So. | G | 6-6 | 210 lbs.

1.4 PTS, 0.9 REB, 0.1 AST

**Styles is a former 4-star prospect

Jayden Taylor – Butler

So. | G | 6-4 | 190 lbs.

12.9 PTS, 3.8 REB, 1.3 AST

Ta’Lon Cooper – Minnesota

Sr. | G | 6-4 | 190 lbs.

9.8 PTS, 4.0 REB, 6.3 AST

Jamison Battle – Minnesota

Sr. | F | 6-7 | 220 lbs.

12.4 PTS, 3.8 REB, 1.7 AST

Charles Pride – Bryant

Sr. | G | 6-4 | 185 lbs.

West Virginia’s staff has been recruiting the transfer portal exclusively for the past couple of weeks, securing a commitment from Manhattan transfer Omar Silverio. The staff has also reached out to John Hugley (Pitt), Eddie Lampkin (TCU) and others this week. It’s unknown how many spot will be available for the 2023-24 season.
