West Virginia basketball target makes decision

Published

on

With the avalanche of football recruiting going on, we head over to the basketball side of things as Mountaineer head coach Bob Huggins is still attempting to fill out his 2019 recruiting class.

Today, 2019 French forward (6’10” 235 lbs) Josaphat Bilau of the SPIRE Academy has committed to Wichita State.

Bilau chose Wichita State  over Nevada, Wake Forest and West Virginia. He also holds other offers from Texas Tech,  Kansas, Tennessee, Georgetown, Kansas State and a few others.

With Bilau choosing the Shockers, the Mountaineers still have two scholarship spots available for the 2019-20 season. Do not be surprised to see one scholarship be given to redshirt senior big man Logan Routt, who walked onto the program and was put on a scholarship during his sophomore season. Routt gave up his scholarship to make room for newcomers last year.

Now, West Virginia may turn their attention to shooting guard Devan Cambridge (Athens, TN) who holds offers from Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and others.
