The Mountaineers are shooting their shot for the heavily sought after Montana Lemonious-Craig. West Virginia’s offer to the Colorado transfer wide receiver was announced by Lemonious-Craig on Monday.

The offer from WVU came just a day after he entered the Transfer Portal, and that came a day removed from his performance in Colorado’s Spring Game. Lemonious-Craig posted three catches for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his last appearance for the Buffaloes on Saturday.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Lemonious-Craig, a junior, is now considered among the highest profile transfer wide receivers available. The Inglewood, California native posted 23 receptions for 359 yards with three touchdowns for Colorado in 2022 season, but did so for a struggling offense and team.

It won’t be easy since big name programs like Arkansas, Arizona, Auburn, Cincinnati, Purdue, Penn State, UCF and Oregon State are also in the mix for Lemonious-Craig, but acquiring the veteran receiver could be a game-changer for West Virginia.

WVU did bring in Devin Carter to be the number one option, Ja’Shaun Poke to help both in the passing game and as a returner option and are expecting other receivers on the roster to step up, but adding one more receiver with major conference experience would provide an extra layer of comfort for the offense.
