West Virginia in Contact With South Dakota State Transfer Baylor Scheierman

On Tuesday afternoon, Jeff Goodman reported that West Virginia has been in contact with South Dakota State transfer Baylor Scheierman.

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, BYU, Clemson, Creighton, Duke, Florida, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Wake Forest and Wisconsin have also all reached out to Scheierman.

Scheierman (6-foot-6, 180 pounds) has spent three seasons at SDSU, becoming a two-time All-Summit recipient. Scheierman won the 2022 Summit League Player of the Year award, averaging 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Scheierman helped lead the Jack Rabbits to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, earning a 13-seed.

The Nebraska native shot 51 percent from the field, 47 percent from three and 80 percent from the free-throw line. Scheierman has two years of eligibility remaining. WV Sports Now will keep up to date with the latest recruiting and transfer portal news during the offseason.
