The dawning of a new era of sorts for West Virginia Sports Now has arrived! In an effort led by Mike Asti, WVSN has acquired the rights to Blue Gold Sports.

All of the Blue Gold Sports properties are owned by Asti and operated by the team at WV Sports Now.

Already bringing content to a mass of readers, subscribers and viewers on an annual basis, acquiring a former competitor will now offer WVSN the opportunity to grow at a rapid pace, thus increasing the overall network’s digital footprint even more.

While more concerning the presentation of the new Blue Gold Sports will be revealed in the coming weeks, it’s important to let fans of both outlets know why they have been seeing WVSN content on BGS pages.

Most importantly, we wanted to make those who follow and consume our content aware of something that’s been going on behind the scenes.

For starters, Joe Steigerwald has revamped the BGS website, giving it a full facelift to fit a look that more closely resembles the Sports Now sites.

What to expect from the new Blue Gold Sports:

The direction of the new Blue Gold Sports will be different than WV Sports Now. Expect a more fan driven outlet and relaxed vibe, allowing Mountaineer Nation to get to know the likes of Jorden Crews, Korey Moore and others like them.

Jorden is a host on the popular Country Roads Webcast podcast, a show already connected with WVSN. Conversely, Korey contributed to the previous incarnation of Blue Gold Sports. More names may join them in the future.

Everyone at WVSN also wants to recognize BGS’ previous owner Ashley O’Brien, who ran that outlet for almost a decade and made this acquisition possible.

Stay tuned….
